If you are upgrading your operating system from Windows XP to
Windows 7, or you want to perform a clean installation to Windows 7 follow
these steps.
Before you start installing Windows 7 make sure your First Boot
Device is set to CD/DVD, for Windows DVD to start when you start computer for
installation to begin.
How To Change First Boot Device
1) Turn on your computer,
2) Choose Advanced Bios settings to change 1st Boot Device to
CD/DVD
3) Save changes then Exit
Windows 7 Installation
1) Place Windows DVD in DVD drive
2) Press any key when prompted to ( Press any key to boot from CD)
3) Then you will need to choose your Language, Time and Currency
Format, Keyboard input method. Click Next
4) Click Install Now
5) Accept License terms, then click Next
6) Choose Custom (Advanced) Install, to format your hard drive and
install new Windows version
7) Now Windows will ask you where do you want to install Windows.
Click on Drive option(advanced)
8) If you have a new hard drive, which will appear as Unallocated
Space, Click on New
9) Click Apply then Next
10) If your hard drive is not new. Then choose the partition you
want to install Windows on, which will be the C partition which old version of
Windows is installed on. Again Click on Drive option (advanced), Then click on
Format, then OK
11) Windows will start installing files, this takes several
minutes
12) Windows will reboot two or three times. DO NOT press on any
key while it's rebooting
13) Then you will get Completing Installation, again do not press
on any key
14) Now Choose a Computer and Username, Then click Next
15) Now Enter your Product Key which comes with your Windows DVD,
Then Click Next
16) Choose Recommended Settings
17) Choose your Time Zone and Date, Click Next
18) Now select your computer current location, which is usually
Home Network
19) Now you successfully installed windows 7, Hope you liked this
